MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The Whitehaven community joined together Friday night to call for an end to violence with a candlelight vigil.

The community gathered on East Raines Road after six people were hit by a car at the Raines Tree Apartments after a fight. One woman had to go to the hospital after the incident.

"There's so much happening in our city, and we have to be a voice for those who cannot be a voice for themselves," said vigil organizer Kenny Lee. "There's so much violence happening in this city. So much has happened, those babies did not ask to get hit by that car."

Though the woman driving the car got away, organizers of the vigil are urging her to turn herself in.
