OLIVETTE, MO (KSDK) -

Standing outside her Olivette home on Thursday afternoon, Zella Jackson-Price, 76, rattled off the names of her six adult children.

"Sharon, Theon, then Diane, then Harvey, Lisa, and the baby boy, Chuck."

In an emotional reunion, Jackson-Price was about to meet one of her children, Melanie Diane Gilmore, for the first time, 49 years after she says a nurse told her the premature child died hours after her birth.

According to Jackson-Price, in 19065 at Homer G. Phillips Hospital, she gave birth to Diane.

"She [the nurse] came up to me three hours later and said, 'Your baby passed,'" Jackson-Price recalled.

After seeing KSDK's report, another family reported that something similar happened to them at the same hospital in 1953.

The Price family plans to hire an attorney to investigate what happened 49 years ago.
