For the second week in a row, a Memphis Tiger has won the American Athletic Conference's award for hitter of the week.
This week, it's Memphis first baseman Tucker Tubbs, who had a standout week, hitting six home runs over five games. The senior Tubbs hit .571 with eight runs batted in and nine runs scored, while reaching base 15 times in 24 plate appearances.
Tubbs hit a home run in each game this week, including two against Cincinnati on Friday.
Tubbs is third on the team in batting average, hitting .339 with 9 home runs. He's second in the league in home runs, second in RBI with 35, fourth in slugging percentage, and tenth in batting average.
Chris Carrier won last week's AAC hitter of the week award.
