An Arkansas man got in trouble with airport security at Memphis International Airport when he took off running into areas that were off limits.

The man was chasing after the new Labradoodle that he and his wife bought from Colorado.

"I said, 'Why don't you finish the paper work, and I'll take the dog on out,'" Matt Brigance recalled. "We went out with a collar and a leash, and she slipped out of the collar."

From there, Brigance chased Chang, his new dog, across Winchester Road into an area at Wilson Air where neither he nor the dog were allowed.

"I ran into a building," Brigance said. "A woman said, 'You can't go in there.' I said, 'Call for help! I'm trying to catch this dog.'"

Airport police started chasing Brigance, not knowing who he was or what he was doing. They caught up with him and forced him to the ground.

"I asked them to come help. They said, 'Get on the ground!'"

Airport police then tried to catch the dog, who by this point was running on the tarmac.

"Three runways were shut down temporarily for almost three hours because they were scared somebody would get hurt," Nicky Brigance said.

Eventually airport security caught up with the dog at Avis Car Rental. They closed a fence and trapped the dog inside.

The next morning, the Brigances went to Avis. After a two-hour chase inside the fence, they caught their dog and brought her home.
