MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - After they gathered for an emotional vigil, at least one prayer was answered for the family of 7-year-old Kirsten Williams.

"We are very pleased that the arrests are made," said William's great aunt, Debbie Davis.

The arrests of three known gang members were announced Wednesday. Memphis Police said Kirsten's murder Friday during a drive-by shooting was likely tied to retaliation for another crime in the neighborhood.

"Toney Armstrong made a promise to the family, and he delivered," Davis said. "We just thank them all for their hard work, their time, and staying focused."

"I don't even know how I'm going to make it without her," Teresa Davis, Kirsten's grandmother, said during the vigil.

The little girl's great aunt said the crying won't stop anytime soon, if ever. She added that she would hate to see another family have to live with
this kind of hurt.

"I just believe that the citizens of Memphis--we have to take back our children and take a stand," Debbie Davis said.

She said the arrests bring some sense of closure for Kirsten's loved ones, but the senselessness is just so very sad.

"It was something that shouldn't have happened," Debbie Davis said.

Visitation for Kirsten Williams is Friday followed by a Saturday funeral.  Both will be held at Soul Winners Baptist Church on Crump Road in
Memphis.
