Two Oxford Middle School students are in jail, accused of making threats against their school.

According to Oxford police, a student told a school resource officer they heard threats against the school. At that point, the school contacted police, who talked to students, teachers, and an accused student.

Officers say they felt the threat was real after speaking with the student and called in the FBI. FBI investigators and police officers searched the student's home, where they found phones with pictures that led the investigators to believe the student had the means to carry out their plan.

Investigators then learned about a second student involved in the plan. When they searched that student's home, they found guns that belonged to the student's family.

"If something is bothering you, contact authorities before you react and do something," said one parent in the area.

"I'm glad the FBI is involved so if they could have acted it out they were able to stop them," said another.

Officers arrested both students.

They are both charged with conspiracy to commit murder and will remain in the Alcorn County Juvenile Detention Center until their youth hearing on Tuesday.
