PHILLIPS CO., AR (WMC) - Court records show Arkansas preacher, Nathaniel Hull, Jr. was charged with rape involving a 13-year-old girl, who the Arkansas State Police Department determined after DNA testing, had Hull's child.

Hull's father Nathaniel Hull, Sr. is the pastor at First Baptist Church in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas.

“This is my first time hearing of this,” said one neighbor.

Neighbors across from the church say they had no idea. Church members said they did not know about the charge either.

“We very shocked. You got me hollering. He was in church yesterday,” said one church goer.

The Phillips County Sheriff and Helena-West Helena police did not want to talk about the charges.

Arkansas state police and Helena-West Helena police are investigating. Apparently a mugshot was never taken of Hull. It is not clear why.

Neighbor Alicia Taylor told WMC Action News 5's Janice Broach she had heard about Hull and the 13-year-old and said if it turns out to be true, “that man did that he need to be locked up. I'm telling you the truth.”

No one answered the door at Hull's home.
