MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Two people are charged after at least five Memphis-area gas stations were robbed early Wednesday morning.

Christopher Dorsey is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, evading arrest, and resisting official detention. Shawn Rucker is charged with evading arrest and resisting official detention.

Memphis police officers spotted the suspects' vehicle at the Circle K at 601 N. Germantown Parkway.

"You know so many in a short amount of time and then I feel for the people it happened to, you know, that's scary. I wouldn't want to be in that situation," said store customer Jamillah Simmons.

When officers tried to arrest the suspects, they drove off, leading police on a chase through several neighborhoods.

The crime spree ended in Cordova when an officer rammed the suspects' getaway car.

Three officers, including the one who stopped the suspects' car, were injured and taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

Neighbors who were woken up by the crash went outside to see an army of police officers and investigators.

"Just very grateful, you know, that the guys was (sic) caught and that nobody on my street or my surrounding area was hurt," said area resident Elmore Smith.

Police say one suspect is still on the run. MPD investigators are working with Federal Bureau of Investigation to solve the case. A spokesman for the FBI said they are also working with the Safe Streets Task Force.
