The FedEx St. Jude Classic InnerWorkings Celebrity Pro-am kicked off Wednesday with tons of excitement.

TPC at Southwind will play host to better golf this week when the professionals get serious, but it's hard to imagine there being more fun than the celebrity pro-am.

Memphian Clay Myers joined in on the fun and stretched his legs with some of golf's top pros.

Myers first discovered his love for golf through the First Tee of Memphis program, then accepted a scholarship at Jackson State. He has played Pebble Beach and starred on the Golf Channel's Big Break program.

However, this year's FESJC marks Myers' first chance to play his home course with other professionals.

"A lot of people reached out to the Tournament Committee here and nominated me for a sponsorship, so I'm just grateful I get so much love and support here and for the opportunity to play in front of everybody."

Former FESJC winners Ben Crane (2014) and Harris English (2013) made appearances in the pro-am as well as golf big name Phil Mickelson.

"It's a tremendous feeling to be back. Great feelings being on this course, it's one of my favorite courses, conditions are as good as I've ever seen. The Superintendent and the entire staff has done an incredible job. And I think they've had some good weather leading up to this week to help them out as well and it's just great to be back," said Crane.

Memphis Grizzlies' Mike Conley, actor Patrick Warburton, and musician Drew Holcomb made their way to the course to play with the pros.

WMC Action News 5's Joe Birch even got into the fun by draining a lengthy birdie putt on hole 9.

Thursday, the professionals will get down to business. WMC Action News 5's Jarvis Greer will be covering every shot throughout the week.
