MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A heart-warming moment had people cheering on their feet at the FedEx St. Jude Classic at Southwind Country Club.

After making a birdie on the final hole Sunday, golfer Phil Mickelson walked over to honorary flag-holder and St. Jude patient Allyson.

7-year-old Allyson is being treated at St. Jude for a rare type of cancer.

Just after Mickelson sank his putt, he walked over to take a picture with Allyson, who was volunteering as an honorary flag bearer.

The five-time champion gave Allyson his caddie's bib, his glove and his golf ball, all of which he signed.

“You've got a lot of people pulling for you,” Mickelson told her. When the crowd heard that, they began applauding.

As Allyson left the green, Mickelson encouraged the crowd to cheer her on. As she left, the crowd rose to their feet and gave her a standing ovation.
