MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A man is in jail, charged with shooting at his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.

Police say the victim was helping his girlfriend move out of Brian Lazek's home when Lazek threatened to kill both of them and grabbed his gun.

As the couple sped away, Lazek shot at them, hitting the woman's car and the man's motorcycle helmet.

Police credit the helmet with saving the man's life.

Lazek is charged with two counts of criminal attempted first degree murder and is in jail on a $200,000 bond.
