A Better Mid-South: Family blame

Jermyle Campbell is dead. He was only 2 years old. Police say his mother, Raven Campbell, killed him.

We want to blame his mother, of course, and she is in jail charged with first-degree murder. The justice system will deal with her.

But who else is responsible?

A number of people want to blame Department of Children's Services for failing to remove Jermyle from the home permanently. And then, a portion of the blame has been aimed at the judge, who heard the case.

But now, WMC Action News 5's Andy Wise has been investigating and we are learning the family is not without fault.

The more Andy digs, the closer he is getting to the truth.

What Andy is learning could help save the next child who is in an abusive situation. Andy will share this part of the story Thursday on WMC Action News 5 at 10 p.m.

Jermyle's story must be heard, so we can save the next child being abused at the hands of a parent.

Protecting our children from abuse will make this A Better Mid-South.
