A morning trip to Walmart turned into a scary experience for a 51-year-old woman.

The victim went to the superstore on Old Austin Peay Highway Wednesday morning. According to police, an unknown man approached her as she left the store.

The attacker pointed a gun at her and forced her into her car.

The kidnapper then demanded that the victim drive him to a Bank of America ATM further down the highway. The victim took out $200 and gave it to the suspect.

The man then asked the victim to take him to the abandoned house where he was staying, but she refused. The victim then drove him to MJ Edwards Funeral Home on Stage Road, where he jumped out of the car.

"I think something needs to be done," said Walmart customer Elton Sterling. "One, they don't have enough security out here, and two, they're too easy on the criminals when they catch them."

Police say no one reported any injures from the incident.

Investigators only have a vague description of the suspect, who is still on the run.
