MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Redbirds played in Nashville at Autozone Park and fans from all over showed up to brave the heat.

Games really began when the audience was asked to guess the temperature.

"102 degrees," a fan said.

Even their mascot joined in by guessing 100 degrees!

Redbirds stadium officials say that making sure the fans stay safe while braving the heat is very important to them.

For every game, paramedics are on duty and there are cooling stations with lots of ice and water to drink for the fans.

While most come to the games with their own water, WMC Action News 5's Ben Watson asked some adorable fans what treats they eat to keep cool.

"Ice cream, shaved ice, and popsicles!," the kids replied.

Lots of fans spent time in tents and under shaded areas. Yet, not everyone views being in the sun as a bad thing.

"The sun is good for you. It gives you vitamin D, so it's good for you," Memphian Angela Faulkner said.
