MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an event that fights to raise awareness in the community and end domestic and sexualized violence against women.

Men in high heels, alongside women and their families, walk to show support of those who have been victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

This year's event kicks off Thursday at the Cannon Center at 3:30 p.m. in downtown Memphis. At 5 p.m., the group will walk a mile in high heels to the FedEx Forum.

WMC Action News 5's Meteorologist Andrew Kozak will be among the men and women taking part of the "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event.

After the walk, Mayor A C Wharton will launch the Memphis Says No More campaign featuring WMC Action News 5's Kontji Anthony.
