MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire in the Wolfchase Galleria food court.

Employees said one of the restaurants in the food court is under construction, and smoke started billowing from that area.

A store manager inside the mall said all customers were asked to evacuate.

"I was in the middle of a sale, and all I hear is 'Fire, fire, fire, get out," recalled Wolfchase employee DC Houston. "When you are from Memphis and you see someone running, you don't ask questions, you just run. It didn't take long at all."

Crews were able to quickly control the flames, which they said were mostly confined to the roof.

Wolfchase Galleria General Manager Charles Tarkington released the following statement:

“Just as the mall was closing this evening, there was a minor contained equipment fire on the roof that was quickly extinguished without any significant damage or personal injuries. The mall will be open tomorrow for normal business hours.”
