MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The Memphis man who pleaded guilty to a Christmas Eve car crash that killed four people in 2011 was sentenced Thursday. He will spend 32 years, 11 months, and 29 days in jail.

According to investigators, Davis Brooks, 36, had a blood-alcohol content of .26. Brooks was also speeding. He hit the back of the victims' car, pushing it into the path of an oncoming Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Two men in the truck were injured, but they survived.

Brooks showed remorse at his sentencing.

“This is a great result from the most tragic of cases. Thanks go to all who put in extra hours to bring some justice for the victim's families,” the District Attorney said.
