Five great things happened this week in the Mid-South

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - It's been a great week in Memphis! 

Despite the heat, here are five reasons why this week was great. 

Mo's Bows

"Mo Bow's" got national attention. The CEO of "Mo Bow's", 13-year-old Moziah Bridges got to provide his bow ties for some of the NBA's first round draft picks. 

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Three words: Men in Heels. Dozens of men (including WMC Action News 5's Andrew Kozak) walked through downtown Memphis for "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes." 

It was to help raise awareness to end domestic and sexual violence against women. They also launched the Memphis Say No More campaign, featuring WMC Action News 5's Kontji Anthony. 

Memphis Police help a stranded family

To the men in blue, thank you! Robert and Talia Reese, with their three kids said that they were coming home from their vacation, Memphis police officers saw them stranded on the side of the road. They took time to help change their tire and get them home safely. 

Memphis Zoo

If you want to have a family-fun day with the kids, why not go to the Memphis Zoo? According to Fodor's Travel website, it's been named one of the top ten in the country. 

Cooler weather headed to the Mid-South

Finally, a cool down is on its way! After several days of heat advisories, the WMC Action News 5 weather team says to expect temperatures in the 80s next week.
