Editorial by WMC Action News 5 General Manager Tracey Rogers:

Tracey Rogers interviewed John Conway after Conway's company awarded a Mid-South resident with a free air-conditioning system.

Can you tell me why you founded Conway Cares?

"You know, this is the community that we serve and we live in and we wanted to do something to give back to the community. You know, every year here in the Mid-South, I see news stories where someone has passed away from no air in their home. We know we can't help everyone, but this is the community we live in, the community we serve, and we wanted to give back to the community. So, we put together Conway Cares. And you know, we're thankful to channel 5 for helping us out with it and hosting it with us. And it's just our way of giving back."

Great, and who is this quarter's recipient?

"This quarter's recipient of Conway Cares is Stephanie Lewis of Cordova."

Fantastic. And tell me why she was selected as this year's recipient?

"You know, Ms. Lewis's daughter nominated her. She's a single mom. She works multiple jobs, and their air conditioning system had been out for several months. She wanted to basically nominate her because she felt like she was in need, and also that her mom has worked so hard. So you know, the nominations came in, it was narrowed down to five, and then the Facebook voters voted, and they voted for Ms. Stephanie Lewis to get the new air-conditioning system. And we're so glad we had an opportunity to put in a new air-conditioning system for her."

Thank you, John, and thank you, Conway Cares, for making this a Better Mid-South.
