The team chose power forward Jarell Martin, a sophomore from LSU in the first round and 25th overall pick. The Grizzlies traded power forward Jon Leuer for the rights to the 44th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, when they selected Kentucky point guard Andrew Harrison.
Martin has a stress fracture in his foot, and will not play in summer league, although according to Martin he will be in Orlando working on rehab. Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace said Thursday night, Martin will also be able to do some spot shooting.
Harrison is a big point guard whose poise Wallace is excited about. Harrison led Kentucky to two consecutive Final Fours.
Martin will wear #10, and Harrison will wear #4.
