BROWNSVILLE, TN (WMC) -

Two Brownsville police officers took a break to do something nice for their community.

Officers Adrian Perkins and Lance Chandler took time out of their busy schedules to give gifts to and play basketball with children across the street from the New Revelation Baptist Church.

A viewer said Perkins gave a young girl at the River Brook Apartments a badge and a goody bag filled with toys. Then, Chandler played basketball with two boys in the area.

The viewer added that Perkins is the Minister of Music for the New Revelation Baptist Church.

"I just think this is over and beyond the call of duty," the viewer said. "These officers are showing that it's not all about arresting people or writing tickets. It's about the youth."
