MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A warrant was issued for a former Memphis Police Department Lieutenant Thursday.

Former Lieutenant Michael McCord is wanted for theft of property and two counts of official misconduct.

McCord recently resigned after an embezzlement investigation.

McCord was supposed to turn himself in to authorities after he was indicted on the theft and misconduct charges, but he has yet to do so.

This warrant is not McCord's first look at the other side of the law.

While police investigated the embezzlement claim, WMC Action News 5 uncovered that McCord had at least 22 complaints on record, including excessive force, discourtesy, and falsifying records.

In one incident, McCord was one of five MPD officers accused of police brutality in a 2007 incident outside the Nappi By Nature hair salon on Elvis Presley Boulevard.

If McCord doesn't turn himself in soon, he could face more charges.
