200 people allowed to return home after high-rise fire

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

People living in the Blair Tower Apartments are back home after a fire forced them to spend Friday morning on the street.

Around 4:40, 200 people living in the high-rise apartment in Downtown Memphis had to evacuate because of a fire.

Memphis firefighters said the fire started on the fourth floor and smoke spread through 11 floors in the building.

People living in the building were evacuated for about two hours.

MFD said one person was injured. She was treated on scene and will be fine.

MFD is still working to determine what started the fire.
