MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

It's a sign of progress for the future. There is now a 30 miles per hour speed limit sign posted to remind drivers in Raleigh to slow down.

Isadore Harris is one determined resident trying to make the stretch of Jones road at Raleigh Milington Road safer.
"We want to try and make it safer for all of our kids in this school zone," Harris said.
This comes after 11-year-old Joshua McDowell and Darryl Howard were hit and killed, heading to a convenience store last January.
Sparkel Hastings, 26, was driving the SUV that hit the two boys.
Police say she was driving without a license. She is charged in the deaths of the two boys.
Now that the speed limit sign is posted, Harris hopes that more progress will come.
"The city engineers have a very large plan to try and update this area and we're looking forward to change," Harris said.
