Highway Patrol K-9 officer Smoke is back safely in his handler's arms.
Smoke, a 9-year-old Labrador Retriever, disappeared July 5 in Lee County.
He was found safe Wednesday morning about a quarter of a mile away from his home.
Smoke's disappearance created widespread interest with thousands of people sharing his picture and searching for the missing dog.
Smoke is the only bomb dog working for the northern region of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
