Meet the summer weather interns

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Internships are a great way to help college students get an inside look at their potential future career and gain some valuable hands-on experience. Earlier this week, Ron introduced you to Ben Lang, our summer weather intern in the evenings. I would like to take a moment to introduce you to Adam Bowles, our morning weather intern. Welcome Adam!

Hey everyone! I'm Adam Bowles, the morning weather intern.  I am a senior at Mississippi State University pursuing a degree in Broadcast Meteorology.  In my spare time at school, I go out storm chasing with classmates to apply what I have learned in the classroom.  I am also a news anchor and reporter for Mississippi State News and the Public Relations officer for the MSU Choral Activities department.  My passion for weather started when I was a kid and I saw the movie Twister.  I grew up in Olive Branch, MS and experienced my fair share of severe weather.  Every time storms were near, I was outside looking up at the sky! I’m excited about becoming a meteorologist and when severe weather approaches, I want to be the one to warn people.

In my downtime, I am also pursuing a side career in music and I am a part-time actor.  I have recently sung at sporting events for Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and the Memphis Red Birds. I won the Delta Fair singing competition in Memphis and was a Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Finalist.  I continue to sing at gigs and venues around the Mid-South and act on Memphis area stages when I am not busy pursuing my passion of forecasting the weather and becoming an on-air meteorologist.
