MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A pregnant Memphis woman was taken to the hospital after the man she loves reportedly attacked her.

Delisa Foster went to the hospital on June 14 and had an emergency C-section to deliver her baby at just 24 weeks. The baby girl is still in the hospital.

"She's actually doing good," Foster said, adding that the baby weighs just one pound, 12 ounces.

Police said the baby came in to the world after a violent fight between Foster and her boyfriend, Christopher Conner.

However, Foster said she doesn't plan to press charges and is working to get him out of jail.

"All of it was a misunderstanding," Foster explained.

The police report revealed that Connor punched his girlfriend in the face and pulled her hair. He is accused of kicking her body and grabbing her by the neck, then choking her until she lost consciousness.

However, Foster said that description of the incident isn't true; she made it up.

"That's the police's job, to try to make people, to try to make people look bad, but no. All that stuff that they wrote up in the report, that's not what it is," she said.

However,  Foster’s mother, Lisa Foster, said police have it right and Foster has been in an abusive relationship with Conner for two years. She says in November Foster lost a baby she was carrying in another bout of domestic violence.

"He made her lose another baby by him, kicked that baby out of her," Lisa Foster said.

The June 14 incident is not the first of its kind in the Conner home. In March 2009, police said Conner attacked a woman with her children.

The report revealed that Christopher Conner, then 19, fired six or seven shots at two children leaving a house.

Neighbors claimed that Conner beat his girlfriend on several occasions. However, Foster continues to stand by her man.

"All of those were make believe," Foster said. "I made it all up."

Foster repeated that she would not press charges. She said she loves Conner, and believes he loves her too.

Conner is charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence. He is still behind bars on a $150,000 bond.

Deborah Clubb with the Memphis Area Women's Council said a woman leaving her abuser is only half the battle. She said stiffer laws are needed to hold abusers accountable.
