MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A teenager pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of a 78-year-old man.

According to Shelby County District Attorney General's Office, a judge sentenced 15-year-old Alzavius Fultz to 25 years in prison with no parole for beating Johnny Hurley in 2013. Hurley died five months later.

On October 27, 2013, officers found Hurley with a head injury in the 1100 block of Barksdale Street. His wallet and personal belongings were scattered throughout the park.

Hurley went to the hospital, but caretakers moved him to a care home where he died on March 22, 2014.

Fultz, then 14, told investigators that he hit Hurley in the head several times while trying to take money from him. Fultz added that he went through Hurley's pockets but couldn't find any money.
