Memphis Grizzlies introduced their new forward, Brandan Wright, on Friday afternoon.
Wright, who signed a multi-year contract with the Grizz, said when it came to the Grizzlies it was an offer he could not turn down.
"You know, it was kind of quick actually, I didn't know that the Grizzlies would have a lot of interest in me or not. You know, when we first started with my agent it was just kind of a team I threw out there and you know it was kind of like love at first sight. You know, it was an easy decision."
Coming to Memphis will also allow Wright to reunite with his friend and former teammate, Vince Carter.
“Me and him you know just, we work well together. There's really no words to be spoken. We just go out there and play ball and we just know each others game very very well,” Wright said.
Wright, who averaged 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.25 blocks per game, is believed to be a perfect fit for the team.
"He's going to bring an area that we've been lacking in our front court even though we've had a very strong front court, one of the best in the NBA for several years now. We haven't had a great deal of athleticism as far as explosive leaping ability. Length which he brings, he's one of the best runners, runner extraordinaire that you'll find in the front court in the entire NBA,” said Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace.
Wright will wear the number 34.
