Grizzlies Foundation needs youth mentors

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The Grizzlies Foundation is seeking mentors for the 2015 – 2016 school year.

Mentor orientation is designed to help prospective mentors make a more informed decision about whether to participate in a mentoring program.

By setting clear expectations around the mentoring relationship, the foundation helps to ensure that those who do sign up have a clear understanding of mentoring and its obligations.

The featured mentoring program this summer is the Grizzlies TEAM Mentor Program Presented by Duncan-Williams, Inc.

The TEAM Mentor Program is an after school-based mentoring program for 7th and 8th graders that pairs three volunteer mentors with nine students to form one TEAM. Students and mentors meet once a week for 90 minutes, allowing them to develop meaningful relationships.

The orientation is free and will be held July 18, from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Grizzlies Administrative Office at FedExForum (191 Beale Street, 38103).
