Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace announced Monday that the team has re-signed center Marc Gasol.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the deal was reported to be for five years and over $100 million.

“Re-signing Marc Gasol was the number one priority for our organization this off-season,” Wallace said in a news release. “For many years, Marc has been a pillar of our franchise and in a Memphis community that has watched him become one of the best basketball players in the world, so this is a great day for our team, our city and our fans across the Mid-South and worldwide.”

Gasol averaged a career-high 17.4 points per game on 49.4 percent shooting with 3.8 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game.

The 30-year-old was a starter in the 2015 NBA All-Star Game and became the first Grizzlies player to be selected as a member of the All-NBA First Team.

The two-time All-Star was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.

Though he is from Barcelona, Spain, Gasol played high school basketball in Memphis at Lausanne Collegiate School.

Since joining the Grizzlies in 2008 in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers (a trade that included his brother, Pau, leaving Memphis), Gasol holds the Grizzlies franchise record in defensive rebounds and ranks second in games played, field goal percentage and blocks.
