MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

He killed a biker while drinking and driving. Now, 34-year-old Krishon Harris will spend 10 years in prison.

The August 9, 2013 crash killed 40-year-old Eric Beasley and critically injured his female passenger.

Investigators said Harris was driving drunk in the middle of the afternoon. The crash happened at 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of South Third and Mitchell Road. Harris hit the motorcycle, forcing it into a concrete bench. His blood alcohol content was still at the legal limit of .08 two hours after the crash.

As is the case in many incidents like this one, Harris didn’t even have a valid driver’s license. He was convicted of criminally negligent homicide, vehicular assault, drunken driving, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

There are tons of motorcycles on the roads in the Mid-South this summer.
