A powerful storm rocked the Mid-South on Tuesday, leaving behind tons of damage to clean up and thousands of people sweating it out without power.

The problem in many cases was trees that strong wind gusts blew over. Sometimes, the trees were so big, they snapped power lines.

In the Summer-Graham area, the problem lingers.

"It’s not fun,” said Logan Haase, who is without power. “It’s 83 degrees in my house right now and no air movement at all. I mean, it’s better out here."

Haase said her way of keeping cool includes using her car air conditioner with the temperature set at a cool 65 degrees. She had a message for MLGW.

"Please please please, hurry up and fix this downed power line up here,” Haase said with a laugh.

MLGW officials said they are working as fast as they can to get everyone’s power back on.

"Well at the height of the outage situation Tuesday, we had as many as 25 thousand customers who were without service,” said Gale Jones Carson of MLGW. “As of this moment we have about 4,800 customers who are without service."

MLGW officials hope to have everyone’s power back on by Friday at noon.
