For the first time since her daughter's tragic death in a house fire, a mom is sharing her last memories.

Five-year-old  Taylor Matthews, her half sister 7-year-old A’rihanna Kimble, and their 29-year-old aunt Crystal Rodgers died in a house fire on Nelson Avenue early Thursday morning.

Fire officials said the home did not have a working smoke detector.

Taylor and A’rihanna shared the same father who was reportedly at work during the time of the fire.

Independence Day was one of the last celebrations Jamell Matthews shared with her daughter Taylor. They drove up to Kentucky to enjoy an amusement park.

"She wanted to ride every ride and she was like ‘I’m not afraid!’" said Matthews.

Taylor lived with her mom in Nashville; however, she was in Memphis for the summer visiting her dad and other family.

Matthews made the three hour trip to Memphis after getting the devastating phone call.

"One of the worst calls you can imagine getting," said Matthews. "For someone to tell you that your only child and reason for living isn’t here anymore."

Friday, Mathews spent time in Tipton County where Taylor had been days before the fire while staying with her grandmother who she affectionately called “Grammyoung."

The family showed off pictures of Taylor, who was headed to kindergarten this fall.

"She was so full of life and so full of energy," said Matthews.

Matthews said she is heartbroken, but relying on her faith to keep her strong.

"This is nothing but God keeping me, and if anyone else is going through anything let them know that He will provide the strength that you don’t have and will help you make it through," said Matthews.

A candlelight vigil is set for tonight and a gofundme account has been set up to help bury all three fire victims.
