MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis police are cracking down on aggressive panhandlers.

Over the weekend, four people in two incidents were arrested and charged with aggressive panhandling.

In one incident, three men between the ages 19-21 posed as basketball players for an AAU basketball group.

Officers said they would corner people near Main Street and Peabody Place and beg for money.

The men had fliers promoting their fake team and asked strangers to donate to help them raise money.

Several times, officers said they blocked the sidewalk and refused to let anyone pass until they donated to the team.

In another incident, 45-year-old Victor Tony Lacey was asking for money and seen getting aggressive with people when they told him no.

Lacey was arrested as well.
