Tennessee sales tax holiday approaches

With school just around the corner, it's time to find some deals on back-to-school shopping. One great way to do that: tax-free holidays!

In the Mid-South, there are plenty of opportunities to buy back-to-school items tax-free.

In Tennessee, the sales tax holidays are August 7-9. Shoppers can purchase clothing and school supplies tax-free up to $100 or computers up to $1,500. For details on what all qualifies as tax-free, click here.

In Arkansas, the sales tax holiday was August 1-2. Shoppers purchased school supplies and clothing up to $100 tax-free. For a complete list of Arkansas tax-free items, click here.

In Mississippi, the sales tax holiday was July 31 through August 1. Shoppers purchased clothing and footwear tax-free up to $100. For a complete list of tax-free items in Mississippi, click here.

In case you missed Mississippi's tax-free holiday, don't worry. Mississippi has an additional sales tax holiday from September 4-6. This includes firearms, ammunition and hunting supplies.
