St. Louis Cardinals top prospect Stephen Piscotty will join the team Tuesday, according to STLSportspage.com.
Piscotty is ranked as the Cardinals' top prospect by various services, and can play the outfield as well as first base. Piscotty starred at Stanford and won the 2011 Cape Cod League batting title. He's hitting .272 this season in Memphis, with 11 home runs and 41 RBI in 87 games.
Piscotty has played only six games at first base, making on error (.982 fielding percentage). Despite the small sample, Piscotty can help the Cardinals at the position while Matt Adams heals from quadriceps surgery, an injury that could potentially keep him out for the whole season.
