Former Memphis Tiger Austin Nichols is taking his game to the University of Virginia.
Nichols made the decision public on ESPN radio and his twitter account.
UVA had always been considered a strong candidate to land the big man, courting him since his unconditional release was given by Memphis earlier this month.
The 6'9 forward challenged the original 'conditional' release given by the school, and was eventually allowed to accept a scholarship from any division one program of his choosing.
The former Briarcrest star averaged 13.3 points and 6 rebounds a game last season for Memphis.
He will sit out next season per NCAA transfer rules, then will have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2016-17.
