South Main residents raise money for recycling

The South Main neighborhood in Downtown Memphis is working to keep recycling available to residents.

The neighborhood has provided recycling bins near the Downtown Farmer’s Market for the last two years, but they need to raise money to keep them there.
It cost $180 per month, and the group hopes to raise enough money to keep the bins for another year. They also plan to upgrade from one to two bins.
The bins are located at Front Street and GE Patterson Avenue.

They are single stream recycling bins, which means you do not have to sort out your recyclables. You can put all of them together in one bin.

The group works with ReCommunity to collect recycling and make sure it’s reused.
