Police: Memphis men drove 150 miles to steal $70k worth of toilet paper

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Three Memphis men are in jail charged with stealing $70,000 worth of toilet paper.

Police in Sikeston, Missouri said the men pulled up to a trucking business Sunday, July 26. They hooked the trailer filled with toilet paper up to their truck and took off.

When officers stopped the men, they discovered the men even stole the truck used in the toilet paper heist from Memphis (150 miles away) earlier the same day.

Jimmie Smith, 51, Markel A. Eskridge, 42, and Eugene Pickens, 26, are all charged in the crime.
