A luxury automobile salesman will spend 80 months behind bars for taking money from his customers.

Federal investigators in Memphis found evidence that Michael G. Brown, 56, defrauded customers who wanted to buy luxury cars.

Brown is from Alpharetta, Georgia. He owned Valkry Corporation and Exotic Cars South, which sold cars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, and more. Exotic Cars South has locations in both Memphis and Atlanta.

Investigators said between October 2010 and September 2013 Brown defrauded customers by taking money for high-end cars and never delivering the cars to the buyers.

One of Brown's victims is legendary basketball player Julius "Dr. J" Erving. Erving ordered a 2015 Rolls-Royce Wraith worth over $250 thousand from Brown in February, but Brown failed to fulfill his order, or give him a refund.

The FBI said Brown took money from customers, like Erving, who wired the money to Brown.

Other victims include two luxury car dealerships in Macau and England. The dealerships wired Brown $8 million for Mercedes-Benz and Porsche vehicles, but they were never delivered.

Brown pleaded guilty in February.
