Biker Dad: Deadly motorcycle crash in Olive Branch

Another Mid-South motorcycle rider has died. It's been a dangerous summer on local roads.

47 year-old Vernon Wammack of Olive Branch died when he crashed his bike through a a steel gate then hit an office building.

It happened late Thursday night near Church Road and Highway 305. From what police have released so far, no other vehicles appear to be involved in the crash. The investigation continues.

I've contacted the Olive Branch Police Department to ask what kind of motorcycle Wammack was riding, if he was wearing a helmet, and if speed played a part in the crash. I'm waiting to hear back.

There have been several deadly accidents involving motorcycles this summer in and around Memphis.

Riders, we need to be extra vigilant, know our limits and watch out for the dangers on the road.

Drivers, please look twice and save a life! Remember the person riding that motorcycle is someone's mom or dad, brother or sister. It's on all of us to share the road safely. And please do not drink and drive, or drink and ride!

Be careful out there, and please follow me on social media.
