A weekend of road closures will continue in downtown Memphis and South Memphis for the HBO/Cinemax series Quarry.

Eight locations throughout Memphis will be closed for filming over the weekend, but people who live in the area say they don’t mind.

"It's good because we've got STAX Museum and things like that and it can inspire people to do more things so I say it's good,” said Jeleel Brooks.

Brooks lives near E. McLemore and Neptune, where signs are already posted warning drivers not to park here on Saturday. He says it’s a great opportunity for the neighborhood.

"All the kids can come and see them film and when they see it on TV they can say, 'I see that, I was standing right there when they filmed that,'” said Brooks.

Thursday, crews took over a portion of G.E. Patterson near South Main for part of the shoot.  Video posted on Instagram shows the crew working on the street.

Friday a stunt driver posted video of him practicing in a FedEx Forum parking lot for Saturday’s shoot.

It’s all a sign of what’s to come over the weekend.

"Some of us want to be movie stars and this is how we can learn how, so I think it's spectacular to do this,” said Brooks.
