The Tennessee Titans put on the pads for the first time Sunday, and continue to break in their new quarterback.
Marcus Mariota has impressed so far with his accuracy and command behind center.
"It's great to see him in there and it's great that he has that confidence," said coach Ken Whisenhunt. "But really what stands out is that he see things down the field and he's able to throw it accurately, that's a great quality."
It may look like the Heisman trophy winner and number 2 overall pick has all the pressure of trying to bring stability to a team that has lacked it at the quarterback position for the last couple years, with Jake Locker battling injury and Zach Mettenberger getting limited snaps in his first season in the NFL.
But the rookie QB said it's up to everyone to make this team a contender again in the AFC South.
"You just have to use to again guys being around your feet and getting knocked around a little bit but as the day went on, I thought I got better at that and it went well," said Mariota. "It's important I think for all of us, the ball is the most important thing and if we can take care of it and secure it then hopefully we can have success with drives and score points."
Whisenhunt says biggest benefit of camp is being able to evaluate everyone on the field, and see how consistently each player does his job.
