MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Breakaway Running is hosting a three mile walk/run in honor of Memphis police officer Sean Bolton.

The Officer Sean Bolton Memorial Walk/Run will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6 in Overton Park.

The route will start on the road next to the Overton Dog Bark and kids playground.

Organizers ask that all participants wear a blue shirt as a show of respect for Officer Bolton and all law enforcement officers that put their lives on the line every day.

The run is free, but donations will be accepted for a fund for Officer Bolton.

Cash or checks can be made out to "Sean Bolton Fund." Participants can bring donations to the Breakaway Running store or the Officer Bolton Memorial walk/run starting at 4 p.m.
