MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Another round of storms hits the Mid-South bring with it more power outages.

Gail Jones Carson with Memphis Light, Gas and Water said they expect more customers to lose power with this storm, mainly due to loosened limbs and debris and wrecks with poles.

Meanwhile MLGW crews are working overtime to restore power to thousands of Memphians.

Although the crews have brought more than 55,000 people back online, nearly 9,000 remained in the dark as of Friday morning.

The initial storms that caused these outages came through the Mid-South on Wednesday.

Thursday, MLGW said it could take until Sunday at 11:59 p.m. to get power fully restored, but that date is now in jeopardy of being pushed back. Click here to view the MLGW outage map.
