MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A purple ribbon and a white rose adorn the mailbox of a home in the 8400 block of Bazemore Road in Cordova.

The small gesture honors the life of Germantown resident Susan McDonald.

McDonald was killed in the driveway of the Cordova home on Saturday, August 1. Police said she was waiting for a friend when she was shot dead during an attempted robbery.

The person responsible is still on the run, but police released a video of the possible killer's car.

As the family mourns and seeks closure, they hope a gofundme page they created to raise money for a reward will help track down her killer.

"We just need peace brought back," said one neighbor. "We need to take our neighborhoods back. This violence needs to stop."

As of early Friday afternoon, the page has raised more than $19 thousand.

The family hopes to raise $75 thousand.
