Police are on the hunt for a second suspect they said attacked, robbed, and sexually assaulted a woman near a North Memphis convenience store.

Memphis police have already arrested Devin Coston, 22. The alleged attack happened as the victim was leaving the Save Market Convenience store on Oakwood Street last Thursday.

The convenience store managers gave WMC Action News 5 surveillance video they said shows the victim leaving the store, and the suspect, a stranger, waiting by her car.

The video also shows the victim and the suspect having a conversation. The victim eventually gets inside of her car, then a short time later, you can see a man walking around to her passenger side door and hop in.

Memphis Police said the suspect pulled a gun on the victim, then forced her to drive forward where a second suspect jumped in. The woman said they made her drive to an empty field where they sexually assaulted her and stole everything she had, according to police.

"It's sad how people can come around the neighborhood and do something like that," said neighbor Twin Brooks.

The victim was able to run away, but she still wasn't safe. Police said one of the men fired at least one shot at her.

Thanks to the victim's cell phone APP, Hello, she was able to identify one suspect by pulling up his Facebook page based on the number he called her from several times after the attack. It's not clear, how he got her phone number.

"Technology is really taking over, and if it can help track down on people like him, that's really good," said neighbor Jasmin Washington.

People who live nearby are sharing their own ways of staying safe.

"I walk out all the time with a knife, so I don't be worried about any problems," said Brooks.

Coston sits in jail charged with aggravated rape, aggravated robbery, criminal attempt first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, and possession of firearm, dangerous felony.
