SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) -

A driver with a revoked driver's license crashed into two homes in Northaven.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the driver, later identified as 26-year-old Vinshune Showers, tried to get away after colliding with the homes in the 900 block of Brandywine Boulevard.

The damage did not look that bad, but homeowner Anne Humphrey said it sounded pretty terrible.

"It was a huge bang, like an explosion," said Humphrey.

Witnesses said the man who clipped her car and home before crashing into the vacant house next door was driving erratically just moments before.

"Well, according to the lady who came down here and told the Sheriff's deputies, she said he was going 70 miles per hour up and down the roads and that he almost hit a kid on the road," Humphrey added.

Officers arrested Showers, then took him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No one was hurt inside either residence.

Showers is charged with driving on a revoked license, driving without insurance, failure to exercise due car, and disregarding a stop sign.
