MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

It's been a great week in Memphis. Here are five reasons to be excited about this week:

#BackTheBlue fundraiser for Officer Sean Bolton

Memphis showed an outpouring of support for fallen hero Officer Sean Bolton. So many of you donated to the #BackTheBlue fundraiser, raising thousands of dollars. All the proceeds are going to the Memphis Police Association Charitable Foundation.

Patriot Guard Motorcycle Riders

We're sending a High5 to the Patriot Guard Motorcycle Riders for carrying a fallen marine's remains all the way from California to Atlanta. The Pony Express-style mission included a stop in Memphis with a ceremony to honor Staff Sergeant Jonathan Turner.

Memphis mayoral debate

WMC Action News 5 along with the National Civil Rights Museum, the Memphis Association of Black Journalists, and the League of Women Voters gave Memphis voters the first real chance to hear from the five candidates who polled the highest.

Election day is October 8. Early voting begins September 11.

H&M Grand Opening

H&M opened it's doors at the shops at Carriage Crossing Thursday. Hundreds waited outside for hours to get first dibs on affordable clothing items.

Elvis Week

Thousands flocked to the Bluff City to honor the king of Rock & Roll. Fans lined up on Elvis Presley Boulevard to get Elvis's second forever stamp.

Also, we learned the Guest House at Graceland hotel will open October 27, 2016. True Elvis fans had a chance to bid on 160 authenticated artifacts from the King.

That's just five of the great things that happened in Memphis this week. We hope you have a great weekend.

You'd think 28 wins over the last three years would enough for a program to feel pretty good about itself going into a new college football season, especially for a program that had trouble just sniffing any victories a few season ago.
